ISRAEL = HURT Khirbet Yarza, a small shepherding community in the Jordan Valley

FACT = Arab Resident families have lived at Yarza for many generations. The community has 72 people, including 37 children that make a living off shepherding and live in natural caves, in shacks, or in tents – Since Israel destroyed all the buildings in 1967.

ISRAEL = ROBBED the West Bank in 1967 and demolished all permanent structures in the village and took the LAND for the people and the military declared it a “firing zone” in 1968.

2013, the Energy Research Center at An-Najah National University in Nablus gave the community solar panels that produce a limit supply of electricity.

Residents were forced to gathering rain water in cisterns + Purchase water from private tanker trucks. Then the Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committees (PARC) laid pipes to a tower located at a high point in the area serving Khirbet Yarza.
