FACT:  Wilson left the murder scene of unarmed teenager Michael Brown and returned to the police station unescorted.

FACT:  Outrageously, Wilson with NO ESCORT washed blood off his hands and placed his recently fired pistol into an evidence bag himself = Violating all protocols for handling a crime scene and securing evidence

FACT:  Officers who interviewed Wilson immediately after the shooting did not tape the conversations. Failure to record interviews with investigators is absurd.  Most police departments have been recording interviews for at least two decades.  Ferguson did write an initial statement and later interviews were taped.

FACT:  St. Louis County medical examiner’s office investigator opted NOT to take measurements at the crime scene.  The lack of measurements at the crime scene is absurd.  Medical examiner’s office testified when he arrived, “ it was self-explanatory what happened. Somebody shot somebody. There was no question as to any distances or anything of that nature at the time I was there.”

FACT:  Ferguson medical examiner’s office investigator said what happened between Brown and Wilson was “self-explanatory.’’

FACT:  Ferguson never followed time-tested process of protecting the scene to ensure that evidence is not compromised

FACT:  Wilson was NEVER cordoned off in a controlled area and stripped of his clothing, his weapon secured by investigators, and then escorted by officers if he leaves.

FACT:  Wilson drove himself back to police department alone.

FACT:  Wilson ignored manual: “Do not allow suspect to use bathroom facilities, or to alter his/her appearance, including brushing hair or washing hands.’’

FACT:  Ferguson made NO effort to handle evidence and adhere to what is known as the chain of custody, a meticulous preservation of evidence until it is presented in court.

FACT:  Ferguson made NO EFFORT to secure the crime scene or the GUN to insure “minimal contamination,’’ confiscating the weapon and collecting the suspect’s clothing while keeping him in a controlled location at the scene.

FACT:  Wilson’s actions were “totally unorthodox and unusual — very, very bad from an investigative perspective.’’

FACT:  Suspects (even an officer) are not allowed to clean up. “They need to make sure he doesn’t wipe off any evidence, destroy any evidence or who knows what.”

FACT:  Investigator, who refused to take measurements did not take his own photographs at the scene of the shooting because, he said, his camera’s battery was dead. He relied on photographs taken by the St. Louis County police.

FACT:  No photographs of Wilson’s bloodied hands or face before he washed up at the station. Wilson thought the blood was a biohazard.

FACT:  St. Louis County detective said, “It is just common practice that we do not.” record interviews.

FACT:  Prosecutors NEVER grilled Wilson – Far more gentle and at times seemed to be guiding his answers. = Prosecutor leads Wilson: “So you got out of the car, you are running, you are telling [Brown] to stop; is that right?  “Correct,’’ Wilson responds.  “And he’s not listening?’’ the prosecutor asks. “No,’’ Wilson says.

“PALESTINIANS ARE IN THE RIGHT — MUCH WRONG HAS BEEN DONE TO THEM BY ISRAEL AND ITS PRINCIPLE BACKER, THE USA…ALSO BDS IS WORKING AND COSTING ISRAELIS $8 BILLION.” — TARIQ ALI

“PALESTINIANS ARE IN THE RIGHT — MUCH WRONG HAS BEEN DONE TO THEM BY ISRAEL AND ITS PRINCIPLE BACKER – THE USA…ALSO BDS IS WORKING AND COSTING ISRAELIS $8 BILLION” — TARIQ ALI

“Interview: Tariq Ali on Gaza, BDS, ISIS and Iraq” by Al McKay, an editor-at-large of E-International Relations August 18, 2014

TARIQ ALI

Click for Source Interview of Tariq Ali

Tariq Ali is a longstanding editor of the New Left Review and has written seven novels, screenplays, works on history and world politics. His latest book, “On History: Tariq Ali and Oliver Stone in Coversation and The Obama Syndrome.”

Tariq Ali discusses the recent Israel-Palestine conflict, the BDS movment, the rise of ISIS, and Obama’s commitment to long-term US involvement in Iraq.

I studied Marx, Lenin, Trotsky and Mao with a more critical eye in Pakistan. Not until I arrived to study at Oxford in October 1963 did I really understand Cuba, Fidel. and Che.

When the USSR collapsed it was the end of an epoch. But one couldn’t just say, “Ah, the slate has been wiped clean and we can start afresh”. It marked the triumph of capitalism and the ideologies associated with it — a global counter-revolution. So what was to be done?

Some on the left admirers of Communist regimes simply shifted their loyalties to the new order — Becoming as dogmatic in its defence as they had once been in relation to Russia, China, Yugoslavia, North Korea….

For this flexible left, “globalization” was the goal of USA and NATO and Israel.

This process is not exactly novel — Britain experienced defeat + defeat of the revolution in France = One must recognize defeat, and adjust to change.

Many of the important ideas of the last century will still be useful.

In Israel-Palestine conflict the Palestinians are in the right. Much wrong has been done to them by Israel and its principal backer, the USA. The Israelis treat them as “inferior people – untermensch”, and tried to destroy their historical memory, and are now attempting to destroy them as a political entity and destroy their quality of life.

What are Israeli government’s political aims in Gaza?

TARIQ: Israel wants to intimidate and the destroy Hamas and its supporters (most of 1.7 million living in Gaza), and ecpand the puppet regime of the PLO in the West Bank as a administrator group over Gaza — Goal supported by USA, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, as well.

Has there been a perception shift towards Israeli use of force? Has this shift provided hope to the Palestinians?

TARIQ: Polls show a vast majority of European citizens are opposed to Israel’s most recent assault on Gaza (Like Iraq), but public opinion has no real force. Certainly the shift gives support to the Palestinians, allies, but that is not sufficient to alter the overall situation.

The boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement is it still an effective approach?

TARIQ: It’s the only alternative to non-violence and its damaged Israel with $8 BILLION IN LOSSES according to the Palestinian National Initiative movement — due to the boycott campaign against illegal settlements, equivalent to 20 per cent of its GDP. If the figure is accurate, the movement has been a success.

Obama’s has committed USA to a long-term involvement in Iraq in response to ISIS(L) — What do you think?

TARIQ: Its Nonsense. The real reason is to make sure that the USA-Israeli protectorate in the Kurdish region remains safe.

TARIQ: USA GOAL = Divide Iraq across religious lines into splintered weak failed states. Its what I called balkanisation of Iraq.

Hillary Clinton says the rise of ISIS(L) is due to the failure of the USA to help rebels in Syria?

TARIQ: That is another absurdity. The USA helped arm Syrian rebels via Turkey. Qatar/Saudis/Turkey/US backed the so-called moderate Islamists — ISIS(L).

TARIQ: USA did not bomb Assad out of existence, because they were unsure of the consequences. — Clinton supported the war on Iraq and saw what happens if you completely destroy a regime — You get the rise of ISIS(L) when USA destroyed all the structures of the old regime.

TARIQ: If USA destroyed Syria (like Iraq), we would have had an even worse situation than now, with at least three different wars taking place.

Some of the loudest voices calling for military intervention in Iraq, and previously intervention in Syria, are the COMPROMISED LEFT (Euston Manifesto). What effect does the Euston Manifesto have on the political left? Is it a modern leftist internationalism?

TARIQ: The COMPROMISED left are “liberal imperialists” like the long pedigree in Britain — Fabians and Labour upheld the British Empire and defended its values long after the independence of India in 1947. Labour governments played an appalling role in Malaya and Aden in the late 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. They had no need of a “humanitarian” ideology, since they were still infected by civilizational zeal. In short they are NOT LIBERALS AT ALL.

TARIQ: Students should read, read and read some more while becoming active. In UK and USA the political party of the left don’t exist. Greece has the Syriza, Spain has the Podemos, and Germany has the Left Party [Die Linke], Scotland has the Radical Independence Campaign and Stop the War in Britain are the best transition to radical left politics.

PROFESSIONAL REVOLUTIONISTS ONLY HOPE FOR HUMAN VALUES OVER CORPORATE PROFIT EXTRACTION

PROFESSIONAL REVOLUTIONISTS ONLY HOPE FOR HUMAN VALUES OVER CORPORATE PROFIT EXTRACTION

“Why We Need Professional Revolutionists” by Chris Hedges on TruthDig Nov. 24, 2014

Click for Source Article by Chris Hedges on TruthDig

No revolt can succeed without professional revolutionists.

FACT: Initial revolutionary activity must be focused on political education.

FACT: Political education of the lower echelons of power (police and soldiers) and get them to think clearly about their constitutional role.

Professional revolutionists = Break New Ground

Professional revolutionists = Must break the systems of indoctrination and propaganda within the corporate state — So sophisticated and pervasive

Professional revolutionists = live outside the formal structures of society.

Professional revolutionists = Financially insecure and often in exile spenting considerable time raising money from disenchanted aristocrats — Later dipossed = Vladimir Lenin

Professional revolutionists = Dedicate their lives to fomenting radical change.

Professional revolutionists = Give NO energy to reforming existing power structure.

Professional revolutionists = Prepared to break the law.

Professional revolutionists = Recognize the fragility of the structures of authority.

Professional revolutionists = Embraced by a vision that makes compromise impossible.

Professional revolutionists = Their full-time occupation is revolution

Professional revolutionists = Revolution without them is impossible.

Professional revolutionists = Severed themselves from the formal structures of power.

Professional revolutionists = Dedicated to overthrowing the corporate state.

Professional revolutionists = Plato referred to them as his philosophers.

Professional revolutionists = John Calvin called them his saints.

Professional revolutionists = Machiavelli called them his Republican Conspirators.

Professional revolutionists = Lenin labeled them his Vanguard.

Professional revolutionists = Ignore the political charades of electoral politics, and spectacles orchestrated by oligarchic masters.

Professional revolutionists = Dismiss liberals and expose the press as an echo chamber for the elitists.

Professional revolutionists = Hybrid of the practical and the impractical and willing to face nearly impossible odds — Revolutions have been crushed by force or hijacked by individuals (Lenin, Trotsky and later Stalin) that betray the populace.

Professional revolutionists = KNOW there is nothing rational about rebellion — Almost insurmountable odds = An act of faith.

Professional revolutionists = Depend on Faith — intrinsic to the rebel

FAILURE = Caution and prudent seeking to fit into existing power structures.

Professional revolutionists = Possessed by inner drive — A set of visions common to religion.

Professional revolutionists = Alone can save us from corporate tyranny.

Professional revolutionists = Never know if they will succeed, but a world without them is hopeless.

Professional revolutionists = Lucid understanding of power and the vagaries of human nature

Professional revolutionists = Are commitment to overthrowing power.

Professional revolutionists = Uses Internet to organize support from environmental, economic and political grass-roots movements and collectives.

Professional revolutionists = Avoid rigid hierarchical structures of past revolutionary movements — may change over time as needs dictate.

DANGERS TO REVOLUTIONS:

#1 Manipulation of revolutions kills reform to create faux revolutions that restore retrograde power elitists. = CIA mastered this technique in Iran by organizing street demonstrations and protests in 1953 to overthrow Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh + CIA again in 1973 ousted Chile’s President Salvador Allende + 2015 CIA uses the same tactic in Venezuela.

#2 Movements within the revolutionary body compete for power, fight over arcane bits of doctrine, dispute tactics, form counterproductive schisms, misread power, overreach and collapse or fall victim to the insidious black propaganda that despotic authority excels in producing. They are infiltrated, monitored and harassed, and their leaders—and all uprisings, even supposedly leaderless ones, have leaders—are targeted for surveillance, arrest or even death.

GOOD NEWS: In times of decay such as the one we live in now, these movements express a fundamental truth about societies in downfall. This is their real power. They offer new possibilities to those who are being abused by failed systems of governance. And their ideals live beyond the confines of any particular revolt or uprising. Once this truth is unleashed, once the ideas that sustain a bankrupt system are exposed as a fraud, these movements are very hard to silence.

Professional revolutionists GOAL = Gain power with an equally strong emphasis on public education

Professional revolutionists = Fill the void of ordinary people exhausted by the simple task of living, working and trying to sustain families — just takes all of their energy

Professional revolutionists = Continuous political education + define agenda + define new institutions = stay linked to the people — open lines of communication — frequent meetings between leaders and the people to insure the good of the people is served.

FACT: There are still some openings in our system of governance for public discourse to bring new ideas and voices out into the public realm.

Professional revolutionists = Must us what openings our limited democracy provides to disseminate the kind of message we want to disseminate to enlightened publics.

Professional revolutionists = Create organizations for ordinary people to expand their power to make decisions to prevent environmental disaster

Professional revolutionists = Must not create an excuse for unnecessary crackdowns on our remaining democratic frredoms

Professional revolutionists = For truly important civic virtues and basic human institutional values.

Professional revolutionists = Are constantly preoccupied with Politics and involved with expressing HUMAN RIGHTS over PROFIT MOTIVES.

Professional revolutionists = Most spread education in politics and power and a broad understanding of what political life should be — make it sustainable and continuous – NOT JUST VOTING every couple years and NOT supporting one of two CORPORATE OWNED PARTY.

Professional revolutionists = Sacrifice in their Fight for FREEDOM AND HUMAN CAUSES and a NEW KIND OF POLITICAL ORDER WITH HUMAN VALUES — NOT TEMPORARY BUT CONTINUOUS AND ENDURING.

DANGERS OF REVOLUTION = Don’t win, or win rarely, and if you win, it’s often for a very short time = That is why politics must become a vocation for all Americans = Occasional involvement every 2 to 4 years in elections cannot counter the TREMENDOUS WEIGHT OF DAY TO DAY CORPORATE INVOLVEMENT AND DOMINATION.
