‘CHOMSKY LIBERALISM’ AND THE ‘NEW ANTI-SEMITISM’

CHOMSKY + FINKELSTEIN = DON’T LIKE ISRAELI MASS MURDERS + LOVE ISRAEL AS A NATION + HATE AND OPPOSE BDS INCLUDING PALESTINIANS RETURN TO THEIR LANDS.

Finkelstein = Derided BDS as a ‘cult’ + Said it doesn’t recognize Israel’s right to exist = Says withdrawal to 1967 lines and refugee return = “no Israel”

BOTH WANT the “Jewish state” and say we MUST accept IT = A Zionist acceptance = Chomsky goes to great pains explaining that Israel is not Apartheid South Africa and there is no “South-Africa moment” at hand. = Ilan Pappe rightfully regards them as virtually the same.

Goal of Chomsky, Finkelstein, and much of the liberal international community = A UNREALISTIC ‘two-state solution’ = VERSUS converting the one-state into a free democracy.

‘New Anti-Semitism’ = Invented idea to challenge a Jewish state = Modern version of what was once mostly hatred towards stateless Jews. = Term ‘Zionism’ is substitute for ‘Jew’ = Questioning the Jewish State’s right to exist.

Investigation of Zionist + Israeli + Jewish lobby’s influence in world politics and media = LABELED Anti-Semitism even when well documented + Jews often boast about it.

Chomsky and Finkelstein object to “Questioning Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state” = Treat the idea as synonymous to hating Jews.

Denying the Palestinian refugees return = Confirms and supports ethnic cleansing for the sake of a Jewish majority = ISRAEL’S MODUS OPERANDI and justification for PERIODIC MASS MURDERS including CHILDREN.

FACT:  Palestinian refugee return = Part of UN 242 resolution of 1967 + Part of the peaceful solution to the conflict = Voted on each year at UN with VAST Majority of about 170 NATIONS.

Finkelstein calls a refugee return crazy = Humanitarian Liberalism?  = Occupation is bad, but ethnic cleansing is OK? = MUST accept the existence of a Jewish nation-state?

Ilan Pappe says ISRAEL’S ethnic cleansing is done following a ONE STATE SOLUTION of MOSTLY JEWS and there is no JUSTIFICATION for two-states = Historical record confirm = All Israel was willing to accept is a certain autonomy for Palestinians under its control = Subjugation in one form or another.

Israel complying with UN 242 entails Transforming into a secular democracy THE ZIONISTS SELL as the only solution. = Jewish nation-state model is the ONLY model which can work = Requires Unbelievable Carnage and Barbarism yhat is getting worse. Is the right thing to do?

ZIONIST SOLUTION = Colonization + Ethnic cleansing + Apartheid Prison = Crimes against humanity = US UN Veto allows this as a special case.

ZIONISTS calls themselves the “most moral army in the world” + “the only democracy in the middle-east” = DENYING 50% OF THEIR POPULATIN NO HUMAN RIGHTS AND MASSIVE VOILENCE + MURDERS = Growing Carnage with each LEASING!

Liberals MUST ASK if such institutionalized violations of human rights are acceptable?  Can we live with that?

FACT:  True liberalism liberates individual from the chains of cruel state control. = Palestinians suffer this control while most Jewish Israelis thrive with special rights.

WAKE UP SELECTIVE LIBERALS TO THIS INSANE INJUSTICE!

FACT:  Supporters of Zionism and Israel are supporters of the destruction of those very Jews in the not distant future.

Time for Selective Liberals to be show MORE concern for the OPPRESSED above a majority Jewish state.

Don’t wait for a ‘South-African moment’ – Wake up Selective Liberals now is the MOMENT to find a EQUITABLE SOLUTION AFTER 70 YEARS OF ETHNIC CLEANSING.

Chomsky reluctantly admitted that advocating two-state today would only ratify Israel’s genocidal ghettos.

Response to Israeli suppression of the al-Aqsa Palestinian intifada and uprising of Sept 2000 provoked by the swaggering entrance to the Islamic shrines in Jerusalem of then-defense minister Ariel Sharon, accompanied by a thousand Israeli police. = Demonstration + Israeli massacre + Resistance across West Bank = Israel attacked with ferocity.

Uprising also caused by 7 years of Israel’s exploitation of the 1993 Oslo accords using the PLO to further engorge the occupied territories and suffocate Palestinian life.

PM Sharon ordered Operation Field of Thorns = EXCESSIVELY violent attacks on the West Bank, including bulldozing of Jenin refugee camp, and its inhabitants.

Harvard-MIT petition = “the US government to make military aid and arms sales to Israel conditional” withdrawal + MIT and Harvard must divest from Israel + US companies must stop selling or giving arms to Israel + Israel must comply with UN Resolution 242 and withdraw from the territories conquered in the June, 1967 war. + Stop torturing + Comply with the Fourth Geneva Convention prohibiting settlement in the occupied territories + Allow Palestinians return as expressed in UN Resolution 194 = Only 443 signatures from Harvard and MIT faculty, staff, students and alumni + A counter-petition garnered 3,200+ signatures.

Lawrence Summers stating: “The suggestion that [Israel’s] defense against terrorist attacks is inherently immoral seems to me to be an unsupportable one.” + “Serious and thoughtful people are advocating and taking actions that are anti-Semitic in their effect if not their intent…. Where anti-Semitism and views that are profoundly anti-Israeli have traditionally been the primary preserve of poorly educated right-wing populists, profoundly anti-Israel views are increasingly finding support in progressive intellectual communities.” =  Summers had to resign in 2006 for his many failures and offenses – Shortest term in history.

Chomsky = Refused to defend divestment despite ample justification by Israel’s conduct and to denounced Summers as unfit to lead an institution of higher education

Chomsky was as upset as Summers that Israel could be sanctioned. = “I’ve probably been the leading opponent for years of the campaign for divestment from Israel and of the campaign about academic boycotts.” = Audience was “astonished.”
