Iran’s leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on TV that US policy in the Middle East was not in line with Tehran’s strategy and Iran will continue to support its allies in the Middle East. = Lebanese + Palestinians + Syria and Assad

NUKE talks with Washington, UK, China, France, Russia, and Germany were strictly limited to that issue only. No other dialogue with Washington or others about other issues occurred.

Khamenei said like in the past the door to other issues if the US carried out its obligations under the deal in good faith = US, UN and European sanctions on Iran’s economy are lifted.

Iran has pledged to place curbs on its nuclear program for at least a decade and will NOT develop nuclear weapons, but will develop its atomic programs in civilian energy and for medical purposes. Khamenei praised president Hassan Rouhani, foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the Iran’s negotiators for their hard work.

Currently the agreement is not yet law and must be carefully scrutinized. = “The text that has been prepared, whether it is approved or not, they have done their part and they should have their reward.”

Khamenei = Has final word on all policy matters, foreign and domestic, including on the nuclear deal + A law passed last month requires Iran’s parliament to approve the nuclear deal and deal with questions about the west’s side of the bargain being met — Role of supreme national security council that reports directly to Khamenei.
