FACT = Framers First Constitutional Convention was against unworkable State’s Rights = The Framers went to Philadelphia unify the nation into a single smoothly functioning government that replaced the existing dysfunction squabbling states.
FACT: James Madison wanted a STRONG CENTRAL GOVERNMENT and US Constitution and was against “States Rights,” and led the charge to scrap the old Articles of Confederation with its emphasis on “States Rights.”
FACT: Madison almost single-handily worked tirelessly to upend States-Rights in favor of a Constitution that put the Federal Government in the Nation’s driver’s seat with most of the federal powers that exist to this day.
FACT: Madison gave Federal Courts the power of veto over state assemblies; the power to tax the states; took control over foreign policy away from the states; took the power to print money away from the states; centralized the power to conduct war; and centralized the power to regulate interstate commerce.
FACT: Madison transferred this suite of powers from a set of squabbling states to a new unified federal government = Stunning victory for Madison and his desire to get rid of states rights altogether = Reduce States to a backwater local affair.
MBC Conservatives = Must see the Civil War and Lincoln as putting a BIG exclamation point on Madison’s Efforts to MINIMIZE States Rights = But GOP “States-Righters” remain today in their effort to DIVIDE And CONQUER to extract $Trillions using UNREST and CONFUSION!
