If Sanders loses the Democratic nomination (with less than 5o% of the delegates), his campaign can use his popular support to justify a run in the general election. The Sanders campaign can explain that if Sanders is not viable a week before the general election, then he will encourage his supporters to vote for Clinton versus a Republican.

Sanders winning with the Progressive Party would be an improbable uphill struggle, given the other parties resources to campaign all at once across the country getting out their messages on-the-ground, through their elected officials and organized local chapters across the country, in a way that Sanders simply would not be able to match.

Sanders does not need to win the general election, but instead build the new political party by adding to the funding he has raised so far of $140 million from 7 million contributions, averaging around $27 and he should be abole to at least double that in the general election as Sanders name recognition continues to build especially among independents — the largest block of potential voters.

MEDIA: Sanders campaign money is not well spent on traditional corporate mass media that sells advertising and corporate propaganda in a “pay to play” two party system. Bypassing the corporate mass media and use the internet to spread ideas and create its own media and information mechanism — Like an independent 24-hour YouTube channel with significant resources ($10s of millions) for professionally produced videos coveraging Sanders’ campaigning and extensive interviews of actual people and experts supporting Sanders and political education and awareness materials produced by and for the people who support Sanders’ candidacy to amplify the party’s movement-building.
