13 New Jersey subpoenas Friday in its investigation of SHUTDOWN of GWB bridge causing massive traffic jam for 4 days.

New Jersey’s federal prosecutor has opened an investigation into the matter.

Legal council = Create doubt = Question email meanings and paint a picture of innocent misunderstandings, downplay the impacts, produce an official traffic study, blame lack of communication and produce at least three people out of thin air that say he was kept in the dark and really didn’t know.

Special legislative panel issued 20 new subpoenas include Kevin O’Dowd, Christie’s pick for state Attorney General, fired Christie aide Bridget Anne Kelly and David Samson, chairman of Port Authority.

Christie = hired a legal team to deal with the GWB scandal = led by former federal prosecutor Randy Mastro, Rudy Giuliani DEFENSE who will handle “information flow, and assist with document retention and production.”

Assemblyman John Wisniewski said new subpoenas seek documents from 17 people and three organizations.

Targets = Christie hires in scandal

Christie went to friendly heavily Republican Ocean County following up on Superstorm Sandy carried live on television and gave him a chance to reassure residents.  Christie did not mention the bridge scandal.

Christie is chairman of the Republican Governors Association and goes to Florida for a private fundraisers for Gov. Rick Scott = LARGEST FRAUD IN HISTORY.

Assembly panel = 8 Democrats + 4 Republicans = Issued the new subpoenas AND retained Reid Schar, former federal prosecutor of convict Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) Commerce Committee chairman = “zero evidence that the purpose of these closures was to conduct a legitimate traffic study.”

CHRISTIE introduced Wildstein as a good friend to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in 2010 – Told they had to find a place for WIldstein at the executive level and the directive was coming from Christie’s office and soon the NEW position was created specifically for WIldstein = Bill Baroni introduced him to people as a good friend of the governor.

Wildstein = named director of NEW Interstate Capital Projects in 2012 = the lane closures controversy at the George Washington Bridge.

Christie hired counsel

The Port Authority has 7,000 employees with 4 people in the deputy executive director’s office on New Jersey side and Christie upped it to 6.  When Wildstein was involved in any discussions at the agency, the information was being passed back to Christie’s office.  Wildstein scrutinized business for the governor – people were careful about what they said when Wildstein was in the room –  a new leader with a proven record of rooting out corruption and reforming government agencies to help lead the agency. Wildstein personally directed the infamous lane closures on the George Washington Bridge in September – new Port Authority documents show

Wildstein = Picture of a man who went rogue, closing lanes without following proper procedures, despite warnings of traffic backups and safety risks.

Christie = At center of multiple investigations of closure for political retaliation of Democratic mayor of Fort Lee not endorsing Christie’s re-election.

Christie = Distanced himself from Wildstein after the story broke = “David and I were not friends in high school. We were not even acquaintances in high school.”

Wildstein = “David was very quiet, also extremely intelligent, but he didn’t have great social skills … he kept to himself, a nice individual but never really related to his peers.”

Wildstein = Reputation at Port Authority = Yell and threaten to have employees fired when they contradicted him or pushed back on his initiatives.

The Newark Star Ledger = February 2012 = Christie turned Port Authority into a patronage mill. = Document titled “NY/NJ Executive Referrals” show 35 new Port Authority hires directed by Christie = More than last four governors combined.
